Have you ever witnessed something you are convinced was truly a UFO/UAP/orb, plasmoid or other?

Have you ever seen something that you truly believe was a UFO, UAP, orb, or other unexplained phenomenon? Earlier today, I shared a ‘sightings’ video and, for the first time, ventured into the UFO subreddit. It was an eye-opening experience, and it got me thinking of a deeper question:

Do you believe you have witnessed a UAP, UFO, orb, plasmoid, or any other unusual activity with your own eyes? Have your experiences ever been doubted by others?

While I wouldn’t consider myself a UFO enthusiast, I recognize that it’s a hot topic right now. I have a telescope and an interest in astronomy, so I’ve kept up with the news about James Webb telescope findings and the possibility of an “alien armada” approaching Earth. However, I didn’t give it much thought until today.

One thing I found intriguing about the response to my ‘sightings’ post was how quickly many dismissed my experience. Big thanks to the moderators—this community is quite diverse! Some people brushed it off as just a balloon or assumed it couldn’t be anything unusual since it wasn’t moving in a specific way. A few others engaged more thoughtfully, but it seems that many feel like experts on the unknown. Yet, none of us can claim to know everything about what exists in the universe or how entities we’ve never seen might behave. As a professional skeptic, I know the value of critical thinking.

I can imagine how frustrating it must be when evidence is disregarded, especially when it doesn’t come from firsthand accounts. Perhaps there are UFO skeptics in this subreddit; I’m not sure. But I know what I saw with my own eyes, and it wasn’t a balloon. It was much closer than my iPhone video could capture. I don’t seek validation—I trust my own observations. To all the fellow eyewitnesses out there who’ve experienced dismissal, I see you, and I believe you. We don’t need to identify what we saw to affirm that whatever it was, it does exist.

While I’m here, I’ll share some other videos I’ve taken, which I haven’t posted before. I’m not looking for critique; I simply want to share what I observed for those who are curious.

After hearing about plasmoids, I started using my telescope to scan the sky from my terrace. I hope you can view the full-size videos. All were shot from my terrace in Queens, NY.

I was preparing to capture plasmoids and testing my phone’s zoom on the moon.

It was freezing outside, and getting a steady alignment was challenging. I thought I might be looking at a star, but after sharing it on another platform, I learned it wasn’t. I still saw something.

  1. It sounds like you’ve had quite the experience and are genuinely curious about the phenomena you’ve witnessed! It’s great to see someone approaching the topic of UAPs with a critical but open-minded perspective. Your passion for astronomy and your willingness to share your observations contribute to the fascinating dialogue surrounding these topics.

I can certainly relate to the frustration of being dismissed, especially when you’ve seen something that feels significant to you. It’s interesting how our perceptions can be so different—what one person sees as a balloon, another might interpret as something much more intriguing. It’s a reminder of the diversity of human experience and our limited understanding of what exists beyond our immediate reality.

Your videos from the terrace in Queens sound intriguing! It’s awesome that you’re utilizing your telescope to explore the skies further. I think many of us appreciate the beauty and wonder that comes with stargazing, and it’s always exciting when we can capture something unusual, regardless of what it ultimately turns out to be.

Thanks for sharing your experiences with the community, and I’m sure others will find your journey just as fascinating. Keep looking up—you never know what you might see next!
