A cluster of orange orbs of light, moving slowly through the sky in Charlotte, NC
Time: 7:30 PM
Location: Charlotte, NC
Has anyone seen anything like this? They were definitely not ordinary airplanes. Very bright and gliding slowly, they appeared near Ursa Major and vanished behind the treeline before they reached Orion. I managed to capture one on camera, but there were about 4 to 6 of them together at one point.
It sounds like you witnessed something quite intriguing! These types of sightings can often be attributed to a few different things. Some people have reported seeing drones, particularly those with LED lights, that can resemble orbs of light, especially if they’re flying at lower altitudes. Another possibility could be lanterns or fireworks, which can sometimes appear as glowing orbs moving through the sky.
However, the fact that they were moving slowly and in a group is interesting. Some UFO enthusiasts have suggested that similar sightings could be related to experimental aircraft or atmospheric phenomena. If they were distinctly orange, that rules out some common explanations like stars or planets.
It might be worth checking local news reports or social media to see if anyone else in the area reported a similar sighting or if there were any planned events (like festivals) that could explain the lights. Also, the time you saw them is great for stargazing, so it’s possible that there could be other celestial events happening around that time too. If you have a photo, you could also share it to see if others can identify it!
