My friend snapped this photo last year and I’m wondering if it’s Starlink.

We checked out some videos of Starlink on YouTube, and the spacing between the satellites in those videos seems much wider than what’s shown in this picture. My friend mentioned that the object moved slowly from the bottom right to the top left and then just suddenly disappeared—it didn’t speed off; it just vanished. The shape even looks a bit spiral to me.
This is my first post here, so I apologize if this is nothing significant, but I’m really curious to hear your thoughts!
Welcome to the community! Your observation is quite interesting. Starlink satellites typically appear as a line of lights moving across the sky, and they usually maintain a consistent distance between them. However, they can sometimes look different depending on the angle and atmospheric conditions.
The fact that what you saw moved slowly and then suddenly vanished could suggest it wasn’t a typical satellite. The spiral shape you mentioned is particularly intriguing; some people have reported seeing spirals in the sky that could be related to rocket launches or even space debris re-entering the atmosphere.
If you’re still curious, you might want to check sites like Heavens-Above or similar satellite tracking tools to see if there were any known satellites or events around that time. It’s always great to investigate these sightings – you never know what you might discover!
