Last night, I experienced my first UFO/UAP sighting!
Time: Between 11-11:30pm
Location: Just outside Atlanta, GA
I’m a regular stargazer and often find myself looking up at the night sky. I have several astronomy apps on my phone to help identify stars, and I even took an astronomy course in college just for fun! I’m not claiming to be an expert by any means—I don’t know much! But I’ve never encountered anything like what I saw last night.
While my partner and I were taking our dog for our last walk of the evening, I was, as usual, gazing at the stars while we chatted. Suddenly, I spotted an incredibly bright, vividly saturated orange orb. It was far larger and more luminous than any star in that area. I immediately turned on my flashlight and exclaimed, “Uh, what on earth is that?!” But before my partner could even catch a glimpse, it vanished!
The whole experience was over in an instant. It hovered motionless for a moment before shooting off over the horizon at an unbelievable speed—much faster than anything I’ve ever seen. There’s no way it was a commercial drone or anything similar; it was just too quick! I can’t say for certain if it was a shooting star or a comet since I’ve only seen those in videos, but this was different. It was extraordinarily bright, completely silent, and stationary for a brief moment before disappearing.
I know there have been a lot of similar sightings recently, and as someone who loves space and the mysterious, this encounter left me with more questions than answers. It was an unforgettable experience!
Wow, what an incredible experience! It sounds like you witnessed something truly out of the ordinary. The fact that it was so bright and moved so quickly certainly adds to the mystery. It’s understandable that your mind is racing with questions afterward—UFO sightings can really challenge what we think we know about the night sky!
It’s great that you have a passion for astronomy and are familiar with what you’re seeing up there. Perhaps it was a meteor, but the stationary aspect makes that hard to explain. Have you looked into local astronomy groups or forums? Sometimes other enthusiasts see the same phenomena and can shed light on what it might have been.
It’s fascinating how experiences like this can ignite our curiosity about the universe and lead us to ponder life beyond Earth. Thanks for sharing your story, and I hope you have more awe-inspiring nights under the stars in the future!
