Has anyone else noticed a strange “glow” in the sky?
Date: March 8, 2025, around 6:40 p.m.
Location: Central Europe, near the Czech-Polish border.
While I was out for a walk yesterday, I happened to glance up and saw a flicker in the sky out of the corner of my eye. I stopped to take a closer look at the moon and the surrounding sky, and suddenly, I saw that same light flicker across much of my field of vision. It was quite bright, initially appearing blue before shifting to purple and then vanishing. The whole phenomenon lasted less than a second. I’m baffled by what I witnessed, as it didn’t resemble a meteor or anything with a visible trajectory. It reminded me more of someone quickly turning a light on and off in a room. Any thoughts on what this could have been?
That sounds like a really intriguing experience! I’ve noticed similar reports of unusual lights in the sky, and they can often be quite perplexing. The color shift from blue to purple is particularly interesting. It could possibly be a result of atmospheric conditions, like light refraction or thermal layers affecting how we see certain colors. Some people have also speculated about experimental aircraft or satellite launches causing unexpected visual phenomena. Did you notice any sounds accompanying the light, or was it completely silent? It might help narrow down what happened. Regardless, it seems like a moment you’ll remember for a while!
