What Did I Witness?

Hi everyone! This is my first post, so please bear with me on any grammar mistakes or awkward sentences. Tonight, while visiting my girlfriend, I drove a short distance up the road to drop something off for her brother at the firehouse. On my way back home around 8:22 PM ET, the night was so clear that I decided to gaze at the stars. As I walked back, I noticed 6 to 8 dim orbs of light—greyish in color—moving across the sky, not in a straight line, but sideways.
Typically, I would attribute this to a plane or helicopter, but these orbs were in motion while staying in formation, somewhat resembling geese. However, they seemed to be bobbing around as if they weren’t physically connected. After doing some research, I don’t think it was Starlink, since those usually travel in a straight line.
I’m really curious about what I witnessed, as it feels like my first encounter! If anyone has had similar experiences, I’d love to hear from you. This took place in northeast Pennsylvania, near Allentown. Thanks!
