A Tic-Tac has been spotted on Mars by the NASA Mars Curiosity Rover Mast Cam on Sol 2692 3 March 2020!

A Tic-Tac-shaped object has been observed on Mars by NASA’s Curiosity Rover using its Mast Cam on Sol 2692, dated March 3, 2020. Check out the image where you can see it casting a shadow on the Martian surface!

Date: Sol 2692, March 3, 2020 (02:32:29 UTC)
Location: Mars Longitude: 137.38077432° | Latitude: -4.73673265°

Special thanks to Azuul for discovering this! Several attempts to share this found object were removed, but Azuul pointed out that it appears NASA has taken down the MASTCAM/MAHLI images from Sol 2692. Screenshots he shared maintained color, while the official NASA images are available only in black and white.

I will share relevant links in the comments to prevent deletion again.

Kudos to MTMitchell for saving the panorama and creating the zoomed-in images. Below, you’ll find a panorama with additional zooms along with the original black-and-white photo still hosted on NASA’s website.

I’ve looked up Sol 2692, and its coordinates are as follows:
Longitude: 137.38077432°
Latitude: -4.73673265°

Some users might comment on the shadow’s appearance since it can seem a bit misleading. MrTotonka created a photo addressing the panoramic stitches for clarity—thank you!

Update 2: A new image has emerged showing the Tic Tac-shaped object absent from another photograph taken at a different time in the same area. If anyone can help find the source raw image, it would be appreciated.

Update 1: We’ve made some progress on estimating the object’s scale! u/tweakingforjesus did an impressive job with the calculations. In brief, the object’s length is estimated to be about 9mm. Despite the size, it raises many questions—significance remains in its shape, material, reflectiveness, and the shadow it casts, suggesting it’s not just a simple rock. Items like Avi Loeb’s spherules, even at just a few millimeters, also hold significance for both ufology and science.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the photos and ongoing research for insights. I’ll continue to provide updates if any new information arises!

  1. This is an intriguing find! The idea of spotting a “Tic-Tac” object on Mars certainly stirs the imagination. The fact that it’s casting a shadow also adds an interesting dimension to the mystery.

Regarding the updates, it’s fascinating how the discussions surrounding the object’s potential significance are evolving, especially with the technical calculations for its size. It’s clear that many in the community are dedicated to getting to the bottom of this, and it’s great to see everyone collaborating and sharing their insights.

As for the possibility of the object being something significant, whether related to ufology or purely scientific, it might help to keep an open mind. Though it could very well be a natural formation or an interesting rock, the curiosity it generates is what drives exploration.

I’m looking forward to more updates and further analyses! Let’s see what else can be uncovered in these images. Thank you for compiling and sharing all of this information!
