Unusual Light in the Sky

While driving, I noticed a bright light streaking across the sky. It was moving much too quickly to be a plane, and for a brief moment, I saw a triangular, jet-like shape. The only illumination was a bright white light at the front. It soared far away before suddenly halting mid-air and plummeting down, almost as if it had lost power. The light dimmed halfway through its descent, then flared back up briefly before disappearing behind some trees. It was so distant that I wish I could have driven closer to get a better look. I’m really curious about what I saw since it didn’t have any of the usual navigation lights and was traveling at incredible speed. I haven’t found any news articles about it either. It was strange to witness it simply stop and drop; it was definitely too high to be a regular drone.
