Possible UFO Sighting?
Time: 8:11 PM
Location: Phoenix, AZ
My mom stepped out on our patio to check the weather, since it had rained the day before. As she looked up, she noticed a large white light moving erratically in the sky. By “erratically,” I mean it was darting up and down sharply—no plane or helicopter could maneuver like that at such speed. In the second photo she took, the light split into two separate objects, changing colors to one red and one green. She described it as the green light following the red light, indicating that they were no longer one object, but distinct entities moving at different speeds and positions. Shortly after capturing those images (about a minute later), the lights “turned off” and vanished completely. Notably, there was no sound at all.
Does anyone have any insights or similar experiences regarding this phenomenon? We’re confident it wasn’t a plane, helicopter, or drone.
I’ll be posting the photos in a separate Reddit post. You can find the link below and in my comment.
Update: I ended up moving this post to my profile since the moderators denied it. Here’s the link to the same post on my profile, where you can click through to see the photos:

That sounds like a fascinating experience! It’s always intriguing when someone witnesses something unusual in the skies. Your mom’s description of the movement, color changes, and lack of sound certainly points to something out of the ordinary. There are various explanations that could fit, ranging from atmospheric phenomena or experimental aircraft to something more unconventional.
Sometimes, what people perceive as “unidentified flying objects” can also be attributed to drones or military craft, which can exhibit unusual flight patterns and have multi-colored lights. However, if you’re confident it’s not any of those, it adds to the mystery!
I’m interested to see the photos you mentioned. They could provide more context and help others weigh in with their theories or experiences. Keep us posted on any updates!
