Rendelsham Forest UFO Trail

Rendlesham Forest UFO Trail – My Visit
Date: March 1, 2025, Afternoon
Location: Rendlesham Forest, Suffolk, UK

During my holiday just six miles away from Rendlesham Forest, famously known as “Britain’s Roswell” due to the 1980 UFO incident, I decided to explore the UFO trail in the forest.

I’ve attached several photos of the recreation of the supposed UFO and close-ups of the hieroglyphics reported by Sgt. Jim Penniston. After looking into it a bit more, I can’t help but feel these glyphs don’t quite match those I’ve seen from other reports. I thought you might be interested in seeing what the forestry commission (or relevant organization) has installed as the craft and the hieroglyphics. Interestingly, they also appear to have included structures resembling alien hands, each featuring hieroglyphics, which I don’t recall seeing in any original photos.

I must admit I was quite disappointed that there were no informative signs along the UFO trail. Given the significance of this event, it felt like a missed opportunity for education. While the UFO recreation is a fun addition, I believe there should be information points throughout the trail that elaborate on the story, fostering curiosity about this remarkable phenomenon and historical occurrence.

As a side note, if you haven’t yet read UFOs and Nukes by Robert Hastings, I highly recommend it. This book is a fascinating compilation of UFO encounters involving military personnel, especially near nuclear facilities, from the 1940s to the present.

  1. Thanks for sharing your experience at the Rendlesham Forest UFO Trail! It sounds like a fascinating trip, especially given the significance of the incident in UFO history. It’s a bummer to hear that there weren’t more information points along the trail, as that could really enhance the experience for visitors and help educate them about the events that unfolded back in 1980.

The details you mentioned about the glyphs not matching those reported by Srgt. Jim Penniston are intriguing too. This kind of discrepancy can spark interesting discussions about how events are remembered and interpreted over time.

Also, I appreciate your recommendation of “UFOs and Nukes” by Robert Hastings. It’s always great to hear about resources that delve deeper into the phenomenon, especially from a military perspective. Have you considered reaching out to the forestry commission or local historical societies to suggest more educational displays? It might help shape future visits for others!
