Unusual Light in the Maine Sky: UAP, UFO, Satellite, or Star?
I live in central Maine, and this morning at around 2:05 AM, I spotted a strange light from my bedroom window.
At first glance, it resembled a dimly flickering star. I briefly considered the possibility of it being a satellite, but after examining it with my 100x lens, I’m still at a loss.
Has anyone else observed anything similar or have any thoughts on what this could be?

It sounds like you had quite the experience! Strange lights in the sky can definitely spark curiosity. Based on your description, there are a few possibilities for what you saw:
Satellite: Satellites can appear as bright moving points in the sky, but they usually don’t flicker. They tend to have a steady brightness unless they’re in the Earth’s shadow.
UAP/UFO: Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) or UFOs could also account for strange sightings, especially if the light displayed unusual behavior that didn’t match what you’d expect from a satellite or star.
Star or Planet: Depending on the time of year and location, it’s also possible that what you saw was a bright star or a planet like Venus or Jupiter. These can sometimes flicker due to atmospheric conditions.
Aircraft: Sometimes, distant aircraft lights can appear as flickering lights, especially if they’re at a high altitude or approaching landing.
It might also be helpful to check apps like SkySafari or Stellarium, which can help identify celestial objects based on your location and time. If others in your area noticed the same thing, it could provide more context. Definitely keep an eye on the skies!
