Captured this photo with my OnePlus 12 camera on March 10 at 12:30 AM in New Jersey. I wanted to test out the incredible 120x zoom feature by photographing planes and stars. I spotted something in the sky and decided to zoom in. I’m not quite sure what stars look like when zoomed in on a phone, so I’m a bit uncertain if what I captured is a star or something else entirely. I’ve attached a couple of pictures for you to check out. If anyone can help identify whether I’m looking at a star or not, that would be great! I also included a photo of what I believe to be an actual star for comparison. Would love your thoughts!

That’s awesome that you’re experimenting with the OnePlus 12’s camera capabilities! The 120x zoom feature can really capture some amazing details. The object you photographed could be a star, a planet, or even a satellite, depending on its brightness and clarity.
If it appears to have a consistent light source and doesn’t twinkle like most stars do, it might be a planet, like Venus or Jupiter, which can often be quite bright in the night sky. Comparing your photos with known images of stars and planets online might help identify what you captured.
Feel free to share your images, and maybe others can help pinpoint what you saw! It’s exciting to see how technology lets us explore and document our surroundings in such detail.
