UAP Encounter in Connemara, Galway
Date: Late March 2022
Location: Connemara, Galway, Ireland
I experienced a UAP encounter in Connemara, Galway, nearly three years ago, and it has lingered in my mind ever since. I find myself reflecting on it daily and feel compelled to share my story beyond just my close friends.
It was late March when I visited family in Connemara from Cork. Around 1 AM, just before hitting the sack, I stepped outside to admire the night sky. Coming from Cork, where light pollution dims the stars, I was eager to take in the pristine view. The sky was brilliantly clear, and an unusual silence enveloped everything.
As I scanned the horizon, I spotted a red ‘star’ to the south. Curiosity piqued, I fetched my 400mm Sony mirrorless camera, set it up on a tripod, and zoomed in. Initially, I assumed it was just another star—nothing remarkable. However, just as I was about to call it a night, something caught my eye in my peripheral vision.
To my right, a sizable craft glided silently across the sky. It was adorned with rotating blue lights beneath, revealing a saucer-like shape. The top of the craft was shrouded in darkness. I was completely astounded—it was truly unsettling. My first instinct was to rationalize it as the ISS, which now seems utterly baffling. I’ve spotted the ISS countless times, and it always appears as a simple white dot moving across the sky. This, however, was different—a tangible craft with distinct features right before me.
Strangely, instead of staying to observe or photograph it, I hurriedly packed up my camera and went to bed while the object was still above. The next morning, I was taken aback by my own reaction. As someone fascinated by this phenomenon, it felt illogical to walk away, especially with my camera ready. It was as if some external force compelled me to go to bed, preventing me from capturing the moment.
In the nights that followed, and indeed for weeks during my stay, I set up my camera on a tripod for a timelapse, hoping to catch a glimpse of it again—but sadly, I had no luck.
Have any of you experienced something similar, where a strange sense of control prevented you from documenting or questioning what you witnessed?
Thank you for sharing your intriguing experience! It’s fascinating how UAP encounters can stay with someone and evoke such strong feelings. The combination of the serene setting in Connemara and the stunning clear night sky sounds like the perfect backdrop for an unusual sighting. Your description of the craft with its rotating blue lights is quite vivid, and it’s understandable that you felt compelled to rationalize it at first.
It’s not uncommon for people who have had similar experiences to feel a sense of control or influence that seems to affect their responses in the moment. Many have reported feeling a mix of awe and fear that can lead to unexpected reactions, like walking away despite having the means to document the event. This phenomenon might be linked to the overwhelming nature of the experience, or perhaps even a psychological response to something so out of the ordinary.
Your efforts to create a timelapse afterward also show how determined you are to seek answers or capture what you saw. It’s a shame nothing appeared in your subsequent attempts, but it seems like your encounter truly made an impression on you, prompting deeper thoughts about the phenomenon.
Have you considered reaching out to local UAP or UFO groups? They might be able to provide insight or connect you with others who have had similar experiences. It could also be comforting to share your story with a community that understands and is interested in these encounters. Thanks again for sharing, and I hope you find answers or further sightings in the future!
